After growing up in Tyler Texas and graduating high school I attended Tyler Jr. College and Texas A & M University majoring in Accounting.  After which I moved back home to Tyler and met my Husband Van.  We got engaged and moved to Norman, where he grew up, in the fall of 1989.

I began my Real Estate career in June 1990 soon after we purchased our first home.  The next 13 years I worked vigorously on building my business and reputation to a height that would allow me to become a broker of my own entity. The more my business grew the more I realized I needed to bring in some experienced reinforcements, so in January of 2003 I launched Vawter Real Estate. Currently with over 32 years of experience in real estate, I pride myself on making sure that I put my best foot forward when representing my clients. I passionately believe in practicing good ethics and morals and having a strong work ethic. I will always advocate for my clients with honesty and integrity and will go the extra mile to work hard to do what is best for my client and educate them as we go through the process of buying or selling. 

I believe my accounting background has been instrumental in helping clients understand the financial aspect and benefit of owning the own home.  I also worked for several years at Don Cies during which time I purchased a residential lot in Brookhaven and sub-contracted my own home.  The knowledge I gained during that process will be with me for the rest of my life.  I built great relationships with the contractors and continue to help clients with remodel and construction projects to this day.

I love helping people accomplish one of the biggest decisions of their life when they buy or sell a home. I have helped over 1000 families so far to date.  I really enjoy the relationships and friendships that I have built through the years and the satisfaction of knowing someone trusts me completely when buying, selling or investing in real estate.  It is one of my largest compliments that I receive when my clients appreciate and value the knowledge and experience I can give to them, and they continue to use me or refer others to me.  I cannot imagine myself doing anything different and look forward to continuing for many years to come.

I now have a great full time Realtor team member that helps with my personal transactions. Hannah Wilson joined my team in May 2021 and has been so great to work with.  Her marketing and business background has been instrumental in continuing our great service and all my clients love her. I look forward to helping you buy or sell your next home!
